University of Otago

Choose the University with the most choice in 2012

The University of Otago, New Zealand's first university, was founded in 1869. It is a progressive and innovative university, with a tradition of quality and an excellent reputation. It has over 20,000 students, 2200 of whom are studying at postgraduate level (master's and doctorate degrees).

The University of Otago is recognised internationally as a leader in many areas of research and has a first-class status as a teaching institution. In addition to this, Otago offers an unrivaled university campus experience and lifestyle. New Zealand's Total Campus Experience!

The campus is one of the most beautiful and closely knit in New Zealand. The University is ringed by the Residential Colleges and these are surrounded by the distinctive houses and flats which provide student accommodation. The whole effect is a university campus where living and studying are a way of life, only ten minutes walk from the city centre. Within the campus, students can find everything they need to meet their academic, social, sporting and cultural requirements.
