St Peter’s School, Cambridge was founded in 1936. It is a private day and boarding school for girls and boys in years 7-13 (age 11-18 years). There are 1050 students of whom 45 are international students.
St Peter’s School encourages students to set themselves personal goals of excellence in all they do: Academic, Cultural, Sporting, Interpersonal relationships, Leadership and Citizenship.

Location
The school is on a beautiful 137 hectare campus 5 minutes from Cambridge and 90 minutes from Auckland.

Academic
The school is accredited to deliver the New Zealand curriculum years 7-13. It teaches the following qualifications:
* NCEA
* Cambridge Maths
* International Baccalaureate (IB)
Academic study is important and international students have graduated to universities in many parts of the world.

Academies
The following academies with specialist facilities are located on campus:
Equestrian Academy: caters for 70 horses and their riders
Tennis Academy: students are coached by professional tennis coaches on clay courts
The NZ Golf Academy: The most comprehensive golf coaching and development programme available in New Zealand.
Swimming Academy: Students use the new swimming pool and nearby pools.

Cultural and Sporting Activites
The school offers an extensive range of activities in sports, music and performing arts. All students are encouraged to participate in these extra-curricular cultural activities, and can choose from a wide range of options.

Student Welfare
The school offers well staffed and comprehensive welfare support to international students. Supervision extends beyond the school gate throughout the year. Students do NOT require a local guardian.

English
ESOL courses are taught by well qualified specialist teachers. They are registered with NZQA and senior students gain national qualifications.

Accommodation
St Peter’s is one of the largest boarding schools in New Zealand with 450 boarders. Students are placed in a boarding house according to their gender and age. Homestay is also available and is strictly monitored by the school.
