Courses Available
A full-time academic programme is provided, preparing students for New Zealand examination for entry into university and other tertiary institutions.
St Peter’s College is fully accredited to the New Zealand Qualifications Framework and is a signatory to the Ministry of Education Code of Practice. The College offers the University of Cambridge International Examination at Level 11, 12 and 13. The College is situated in the central city and has a roll of 1220.
Facilities
St Peter’s College is a fully resourced and equipped school of academic classrooms, library, science laboratories, art and photographic studios, music and drama, computer suites and commercial facilities, technology and design, gymnasium and several playing fields. An International Centre helps arrange banking, travel, medical insurance and any other day-to-day needs of the students.
The Dean of International Students places students in the class, assists them with their learning and provides counselling.
Programme for International Students
Extensive ESL courses are provided at all levels by specialist teachers, including one to one and in-class assistance where necessary, preparing senior students for IELTS examinations. Several full-time teachers specialise in assisting international students with English. Placement within the school depends upon their level of competence in English as assessed by the school. It is expected that students will have had English tuition before enrolment.
Activities
Students are encouraged to participate in sports teams and cultural activities such as music. Students are required to support the Special Catholic Character of the school.
Accommodation
Our Director of International Students arranges homestays with St Peter’s families to provide a caring, supportive environment, maintaining regular contact with the homestay family and the student’s parents. Homestay accommodation is $250 per week. A placement fee of $250 applies.
Fees
Annual tuition fee, including textbooks and ESL, is $14,500 plus GST at 12.5% totalling $16,312.50 plus a $500 administration fee. Extra costs are uniform, stationery and medical insurance.
