Environment
St John’s College is located on the hilltop overlooking Hamilton City. It is adjacent to the University of Waikato. Frequent bus services make the College easily accessible from all parts of the city.

St John’s College offers a first-class education. We encourage each student to make the best use of his God-given talents, both inside and outside the classroom.

Courses Available
Students are able to choose a course of study appropriate to their future career plans. Subjects frequently chosen by international students are: Accounting, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics with Statistics, Mathematics with Calculus, Computing, English, ESOL, as well as many other choices.

Extracurricular Programme
Twenty-three sports are available. Overseas students often participate in Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis and Soccer although many also delight in being able to try new sports.
The College features an excellent, well-equipped musical department with the opportunity for students to learn an instrument as well as play in the College Orchestra, Ceilidh Group or Jazz Band.

Programme for International Students
St John’s College warmly welcomes students from a variety of overseas countries. On arrival at the College the student’s level of competency in English is assessed to ensure they are placed at the appropriate level of study. The Dean of International Students oversees the academic programmes, progress and welfare of our students. Extra buddy reading programmes with NZ students are provided free of charge.
Enrolments are accepted throughout the year with students able to begin their studies on arrival.

Accommodation
If a student requires accommodation the College can arrange a homestay, that is, living with a local New Zealand family. The homestay will provide the student with his own fully furnished room, three meals a day and laundry facilities. The Dean of International Students maintains regular contact with the homestay family to ensure the student is well cared for.

Fees
The total annual College tuition fee is NZ$13,000 (payable in advance). Homestay fees are NZ$220 per week. Uniform, stationery and allowances are extra.

Hamilton has a temperate climate with average temperatures ranging from 20–30°C in summer.

Location
St John’s College is situated only 90 minutes from Auckland International Airport and 10 minutes from the centre of Hamilton.
