Sacred Heart College
Location
Sacred Heart College is situated in the heart of Lower Hutt close to The Dowse Art Gallery and city centre. Wellington Central is 15 minutes drive and the school is fortunate to be permitted use of the Hutt Recreational Park and Huia Pool.

Curriculum
Year 13 NCEA subjects: English, Maths, Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Art History, French, German, Music, Classics, Mäori, Accounting, Economics, Physical Education, Graphics.
Year 12 Subjects: Drama, Religious Studies, Alternative Maths, ICT, Materials Technology, Graphics, Food Technology, Business/Retail, Sustainability and most of the academic subjects listed above.
Special Features
The College has one of the largest Duke of Edinburgh Awards (Outdoor education) group of candidates in New Zealand. In 2008, 24 students received Gold Awards at Government House. The College also has a strong emphasis on music, drama, and public speaking and debating. There is an excellent library and outstanding computer facilities throughout the College. There are two choirs, a symphonic band, an opportunity to learn an instrument and cultural groups.
Sports
Netball, hockey, water-polo, tennis, cricket, basketball, badminton, softball, volleyball, golf, rowing, athletics, touch rugby, soccer, dragon-boating.
