School Philosophy
Opihi College provides a caring learning environment. It has dedicated teachers committed to ensuring that each student develops to their full potential.
A particular feature of the school is the individual attention given to senior students. This is made possible by small classes in Years 12 and 13, where classes of 10-15 students are common. We have approximately 20 international students studying at different levels within the school, from Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and China.
Curriculum
Course Information
The school offers a wide curriculum leading to New Zealand National Certificate in Education Achievement (NCEA) Level 1 to 4. A comprehensive, New Zealand Qualification Authority approved 10 week intensive English language programme is available prior to beginning the high school courses. Course Commencement

Facilities and Services
Located in Temuka, Opihi College is just one and a half hours drive from Christchurch International Airport and 10 minutes from Timaru. The school has excellent, modern facilities, including up-to-date, well equipped laboratories and classrooms, computer suites, library and drama theatre. Sports facilities include a gymnasium, tennis courts, cricket, soccer and rugby grounds.
Accommodation
The school will arrange homestay. For the cost of accommodation and tuition fees please contact the international student manager.
English Language Support
The School has an excellent English language programme for international students. We consistently produce excellent results in NCEA, TOEFL and IELTS. English language support is provided as part of the tuition fees.
