General Description
Long Bay College is a co-educational secondary school with 1650 boys and girls aged 13 to 18 years old. Our mission is to prepare students for a successful life and we do so by focusing on developing independence, excellence and a creative spirit in each child. Students benefit from being taught in purpose built facilities with widespread use of technology and the College has a spacious campus set in a beautiful location, close to the beautiful Long Bay beach.

Academic Programme and Subjects Offered
Excellence is a goal for all students and is evident in many areas of the College. NCEA results show that Long Bay College is amongst the top performing state secondary schools in New Zealand. Students consistently achieve above national averages in NCEA at Levels 1, 2 and 3 and in University Entrance. The College has a wide choice of academic and vocational subjects with highly trained and qualified teachers who prepare students well for national qualifications, places in tertiary institutions and for employment.

Music and the Arts
Long Bay College has a reputation for excellence in Performing Arts. There are many opportunities for international students to participate in a wide range of activities including Dance, Drama, Jazz Band, Orchestra and Music Productions.

Sports
Students can choose from a wide range of sports from athletics to water polo and are able to enjoy fantastic facilities at the purpose built fitness centre which boasts a fully equipped gym and a rock climbing wall.

International Student Welfare
The care of our international students is given top priority and a team of international staff provide a caring, quality service. The International Dean closely monitors academic progress in consultation with subject teachers.

International students live with carefully selected local families arranged by the Homestay Co-ordinator.
