Curriculum
The School has a strong commitment to external examinations as a measure of academic success and has produced the top student in New Zealand. The Academic Institute exists to extend and challenge the intellectual capacity of top students. There is a full range of Level 1-3 subjects offered in order to obtain the National Certificates in Education Achievement. Students may also study for Cambridge International in Mathematics.

Co-Curriculum
Orchestra, Stage Band, Jazz Groups, Harmony Groups, Musical productions, Debating, Public Speaking, Chess Club, Computers, Christian Fellowship, Drama/Theatre Sports, Soap Box Derby.
Music Academy and Musical tuition is available in school for most instruments.

Special Features
A large and dynamic ESOL programme including a Foundation course is available. The ESOL offers courses to students at beginner, pre-intermediate and advanced levels. It focuses on developing reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Guidance is given on the selection of subjects. Students studying ESOL have the opportunity to study for NCEA unit standards at the Level 1 and Level 2 levels. Level 2 meets the literacy requirements for entrance to tertiary study in NZ and overseas. School camps for Seniors and Juniors, Services Academy, Gateway Programme.
