General Description
Christchurch Girls' High School is one of the top single-sex high schools in New Zealand. Established in 1877 the school is based on a long tradition of high standards and excellence. Christchurch Girls' High School is a decile 9 school with on average 90% of the students achieving the necessary grades for university entrance.

Curriculum
CGHS is accredited to deliver the New Zealand curriculum for years 9-13. Full accreditation for teaching NCEA national qualification level 1-3. Extension courses undertaken through the local university.

50 cultural and sporting activities available.

CGHS is set in park-like grounds, 7 minutes from the city centre. Facilities include swimming pool, auditorium, full gym and 6 computer suites.

ESOL courses are taught by a well qualified ESOL teacher. Specialist tutoring is also available.
