Cashmere High School
General Description
Cashmere High School is a co-educational state secondary school with a roll of 1700 local students and 50-70 international students. It is situated in beautiful Christchurch, the heart of New Zealand's South Island. The school is well known throughout New Zealand for academic excellence and its arts and music programmes. We welcome International students and value the cultural relationships formed.

Curriculum
A wide range of subjects covering the National Curriculum are available. We offer a strong academic programme with consistently proven academic results and University Entrance supported by gifted and talented extension classes and acceleration programmes. Learning support is also available for students with learning needs, including transitional programmes into workplace experience. We have a highly regarded Outdoor Education programme where students experience our great landscape, including tramping, kayaking and caving options. We also offer an intensive English programme of up to 10 hours of ESOL per week.
Co-Curricular
We are a leading school regionally and nationally in the performing arts. We offer major productions, a wide range of music options including orchestra, rock bands, choir, drama and theatre sports. Music tuition in most instruments is available at school.
Many New Zealand sporting representatives have come from Cashmere High School through our diverse range of sporting options. These include Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Rowing, Rugby, Skiing, Soccer, Squash, Swimming, Tennis, Volleyball, Waterpolo, Windsurfing…
Special Features
The school is set in large, attractive grounds with a number of playing fields and tennis courts. The school has a new gymnasium, well resourced library, specialist drama, art and music rooms. There are modern technology rooms, computer rooms and science laboratories.
