General Description
Linwood College is a co-educational school founded in 1954 with a roll of 1,000 students. Linwood College offers a rich multicultural, inclusive, caring environment and a balanced education for students. The school’s vision is ‘to provide learning pathways to the future’.

Location & Facilities
Located in Christchurch, 10 minutes from the centre of the city with easy access to beaches and mountains. Linwood College is set in 8.2 hectares of landscaped grounds. The school has six computer suites, two gymnasiums, a music block, specialist science rooms, a library, a large student cafeteria, a careers centre, a hospitality and restaurant department and photography room.

Academic Programmes
The school offers a wide range of subjects from Year 9 to Year 13. Qualifications are offered at Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the NCEA framework. All senior subjects are NZQA approved.
ESOL: Full time intensive language classes are offered from beginner English through to NCEA Level 1 and 2, and IELTS preparation.

Extracurricular Activities
Orchestra, choir and jazz band, drama, soccer, rugby, futsal, basketball, fencing, netball, snooker, table tennis, skiing, tennis, cricket, volleyball, golf, cycling and badminton. The school also offers an Adventure Education Programme which includes outdoor ‘adventure’ activities, tourism trips and five academic subjects.

Student Welfare
Students are met at the airport. Students have an orientation programme, a buddy and a mentor teacher. Counsellor, nurse and Director of International Students and Homestay coordinators available full time. Help with visa applications.

Accommodation
Excellent, caring homestay accommodation with a bedroom, three meals a day and a laundry service.

Fees
Academic Course $12,000 per annum, $6,500 for 2 terms. Adventure Course $850 per term. Homestay $220 per week. Placement fee $400.
