School VisionSt Heliers School is a welcoming community that stands for excellence in academic achievement and fosters independent, well-rounded students. The school is a community that is innovative and encouraging, where sound values underpin all school activities.
St Heliers School is a full primary school for students aged 5 to 13 years. St Heliers School is located in the heart of one of Auckland’s premium suburbs, just twenty minutes from Auckland’s central business district. St Heliers has a family friendly, village-like atmosphere, revolving around its beautiful beaches and parks.
School ValuesHonesty – Students should always be truthful.
Responsibility – Students should be trustworthy, reliable and be accountable for own actions.
Diligence – Students should be conscientious and hard working.
Self-Discipline – Students should show self-control.
Respect – Students should display manners and courtesy to each other, to adults and look after all school equipment and property.
School EnvironmentWe work continuously to provide a learning environment that is safe, caring, happy and supportive, an environment in which every individual is valued; an environment that encourages excellence and celebrates success.
Our school values are at the heart of this environment. Students are encouraged and supported to display the values consistently in everything they do.
School Rules are kept to a minimum. However, we have firm expectations about appropriate behaviour and insist that children know and follow our School Rules.
The quality of education we provide is demonstrated by the high demand for places at St Heliers School; many families move into the area to enable their children to attend St Heliers School.
We do, however, encourage international students to enrol as we recognise that our children live in an increasingly multicultural world. Having hosted students from countries such as Korea, China, Thailand, Holland, Singapore, Sweden, Italy and Japan, we have seen firsthand how hosting international students is a great opportunity to develop respect, knowledge and understanding of different cultures for both the international students and our local students.
A high-quality International Students’ Programme is provided, with Pastoral Care and two specialist ESOL teachers (English for Speakers of Other Languages) to ensure that students we host are comfortable with language and culture.
We are proud of the experience we offer international students and encourage you to visit our
