The Right Place to Study
At the Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS), students benefit from world-class hospitality training. Under the guidance of the internationally renowned International Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (IHTTI) of Neuchatel, Switzerland, PIHMS provides a unique learning environment that give students the right skills, knowledge and experience to take up a career in the hospitality industry anywhere in the world.
As well as academic study, students gain real experience from hands-on learning. Students run PIHMS as a fully functioning hotel; they learn to operate the various departments of a hotel and to manage the different business aspects of the hotel industry. This well-balanced educational programme combines practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and personal development to New Zealand and international industry standards.

The Right Facilities
Students live on-campus in large, well equipped twin share accommodation with ensuite facilities, which have recently been rated 4 stars plus by Qualmark.
Leisure facilities include a heated swimming pool, tennis court, gymnasium, squash court, and student lounge with pool tables and table tennis.
On campus, the quality learning environment includes modern lecture rooms, computer laboratories, a well-resourced library, fine-dining and bistro restaurants, teaching and commercial kitchens, fully operational bars, an award winning reception area and fully operational housekeeping department and laundry.

The Right Training
Industry placements form an integral part of all PIHMS courses, offering students invaluable paid work experience in some of the leading hotels both in New Zealand and around the world. These experiences provide the perfect opportunity for PIHMS students to apply the skills and knowledge gained through their studies.

The Right Qualifications
• PIHMS Certificate in English (NZQA Level 4)
An introductory hotel management course with IELTS preparation and exam.
• International Diplomas in Hotel Management (NZQA Level 6, Australian AQF Level 6, IHTTI Swiss Diploma)
A two and a half year course including two six month semesters of paid industry placement.
• Bachelor of Applied Hospitality & Tourism Management (NZQA Level 7)
A six month extension on the International Diploma in Hotel Management.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Hotel Management (NZQA Level 8)
One year Post Graduate includes one semester on campus and one semester industry placement.

Our graduates are highly sought after by hospitality employers in New Zealand and internationally. They are employed in positions such as Hotel General Manager, Front Office Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Reservations Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Sales & Marketing Manager in hotels in New Zealand and Internationally.
