Detailed Profile
Pinehurst School

Principal’s Comments
Pinehurst is a very special place. It is a community of learners - students, teachers and parents dedicated to achieving the very best we can for each child. At Pinehurst, we respect each student as an individual with unique gifts and talents. Within the caring and nurturing atmosphere at our school we cater for each student by providing a rich environment and varied experiences to encourage these gifts and talents to flourish.
In our school, values and intelligent behaviours are taught and lived, encouraging high standards of personal integrity, co-operative behaviour, critical thinking and problem solving. We are growing entrepreneurs and leaders at Pinehurst, young people who have a self-knowledge and inner confidence to create their own future.
Our students and staff are encouraged to continually set goals and raise achievement levels in an extensive range of academic, cultural and sporting endeavours. There is a focus, within a success-oriented atmosphere, of encouraging creativity and the pursuit of excellence.
Our students and teachers enjoy state of the art, well resourced classroom facilities in every curriculum area, and in sports, the arts and information technology.
Most of all Pinehurst is a family, we value and care for each other and look after our environment.
Location
Pinehurst is a premier independent school for students aged 5 to 18, based in Albany on Auckland’s North Shore.
Capped at 850 students, Pinehurst offers passionate teachers, small classes and a nurturing learning environment where your child can succeed in a world class Cambridge curriculum.
We are committed to ensuring your child leaves Pinehurst, prepared and ready to address life’s challenges as a confident, well equipped adult.
A World Class Education

Applications
Demand for places at Pinehurst is high, and parents are encouraged to apply for enrolment well in advance of when they’d like their child to start. Pinehurst is “three schools in one” – with Primary (Years 0 – 6), Junior College (Years 7 – 9) and College (Years 10 – 13). Popular intake points are New Entrants (Year 0) and Junior College (Year 7), however from time to time vacancies do arise at other levels.
For all enrolment information, please contact our Enrolments Manager by telephone or email (enrolment@pinehurst.school.nz). The school holds regular open days – see our website for further details. www.pinehurst.school.nz
